Chairman’s Message
Prakash L. Soni Chairman, Soni Polymers Pvt. Ltd.
Soni Polymers was built on a single conviction: that quality manufacturing, done honestly, earns lasting trust. What began as a focused operation in Nagpur has grown, across three generations of our family, into a manufacturer supplying stationery inks, markers, and writing instruments to customers in over 60 countries.
That growth has never been accidental. Every decision, from our early investment in in-house R&D to earning ISO 9001:2015, REACH, and EN 71 certifications, has been made with a long-term view. We do not chase volume at the cost of consistency. Our buyers return because they know what to expect: formulations that perform, documentation that meets their compliance requirements, and a team that treats their specifications seriously.
Sustainability is not a separate agenda for us. It is built into how we source, how we formulate, and how we manufacture. Reducing environmental impact is a responsibility we have held long before it became standard language in the industry.
None of this reflects the work of one person. It reflects decades of effort from our team in Nagpur, the trust of our distribution and export partners, and the loyalty of customers who have grown with us. I am grateful to each of them.
We will keep building. Not by changing what we stand for, but by extending it into new markets, new product categories, and new standards.
FAQs
What is the central vision that drives Soni Officemate's growth?
Our Chairman Mr. Prakash Soni, the founder of our legacy, built this company on a simple conviction: that quality should not be a premium privilege. From correction fluids in 1978 to surgical-grade skin markers certified by Det Norske Veritas, every product category we have entered has been guided by the same principle. His Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pen & Stationery Association of India in 2017 reflects a life’s work built on this belief.
How does the leadership balance tradition with modernization?
Soni Officemate operates with a generational discipline: the founding generation built the manufacturing and quality foundation; the second generation under Mr. Rahul Soni expanded into exports, new categories, and the inks division; and the current leadership team is driving digital transformation, sustainability integration, and global brand building. We do not modernize for its own sake but to serve our core purpose better.
What does the Chairman believe about sustainability?
The commitment to sustainability at Soni Officemate is not a recent corporate initiative. It is rooted in the chemistry disciplines that defined our early years. Water-based inks, responsible material sourcing, and minimal waste were operational realities before they became marketing language. The 10,000 trees planted annually and the 500 KW solar installation reflect an obligation our leadership team takes personally.
What is the long-term ambition for Soni Officemate?
Our stated ambition is to be recognized globally not merely as an Indian manufacturer, but as a manufacturer of international standard products that happen to be made in India. Reaching 60+ export countries is a milestone, not a ceiling. The goal is deeper market presence in each territory, not just volume: becoming the preferred brand in key categories in our target markets rather than an available alternative.
